Hey, hey—long time no talk! Between going to the Open House at Random House, having my family visit, and running the NYCRUNS Hot Chocolate 10-K today, this weekend whizzed by! I owe you too many recaps to count, so those will start cycling through tomorrow morning. Overall, though, this Friday-to-Sunday packed a ton of fun.
I also managed to complete almost every scheduled workout. (Yesterday’s planned indoor bike trainer ride didn’t happen because I opted for a 30-min. shakeout run instead.) Looking ahead to this week, I have another busy schedule. As usual, biking will be my number one priority, even more so now because I don’t know if I’ll be able to spend any time in the saddle when I head home for the holidays. (Syracuse peeps: Are there any indoor spinning/triathlon-specific cycling classes that don’t require participants to bring a bike?) I will have access to a pool, though, so swimming won’t be an issue. OK, time for Write It Down, Do It Up!
(If you’re new to WIDDIU, here’s how it works: Every Sunday evening, I post my workout schedule for the week, and I invite you to do the same. This way, we can motivate each other and hold ourselves accountable. Sounds like a win-win, right?)
Monday – a.m. run and strength train; p.m. bike (trainer workout during the SU game)
Tuesday – a.m. run; p.m. swim
Wednesday – a.m. bike and strength train
Thursday – a.m. run; p.m. swim
Friday – off
Saturday – a.m. run; p.m. swim
Sunday – easy run or swim
How was your weekend? Did you race/workout? Which workouts are you looking forward to this week?

man you still get those double days even with a job, that blows my mind!
My in-person job (i.e. not freelancing/making my own schedule) doesn’t start until January.
Can’t wait to hear about your weekend!! Sounds like you were very busy, but that it was very fun at the same time.
It was so busy and so fun; I slept for 10 hours last night–ha!
I wish there was a hot chocolate run here, stupid Florida lol! Xo
Yeah, a hot chocolate run wouldn’t have the same appeal in Florida.
Sounds awesome! How was the hot chocolate race? I remember when they came to DC it was a disaster. Hopefully much better!
It was definitely different from what I was expecting, and since I wasn’t going into it with a serious/”I’m going to race and PR this course” mentality, it was fun. I hoped for dark chocolate hot chocolate at the end, but no dice.
I look forward to your Hot Chocolate race re-cap.
Saturday was cold and rainy so I went to the indoor track and ran 3 miles. Yesterday was a yoga and pilates DVD that made me feel long and lean!
Love doing yoga! I need some back in my life.
Sounds like you had a busy weekend! I took the weekend off from working out so I’m ready to get back after it this evening!
Woohoo!
Hey Carrie! I love WIDDIU – you know that’s almost a palendrome, which makes it all the more fabulous. I’m training for my first ever half marathon, and it’s funny because my workout schedule this week looks a lot like yours. I have runs on Tu, Th, and Su, strength on M and W, rest on F, and circuits on Sa. Should be fun!
Ekkk, so exciting! Which one are you running, Haley? And are you following a training plan? (#runnerd over here

Looking forward to hear about the race! We didn’t race this weekend but I ran 9.5 miles on Saturday and 6 miles on Sunday.
Wow, lots of running!
