Hey, hey—happy Sunday! How was your weekend? Yesterday, I completed a super-sprint indoor triathlon (500-yard swim, 12-mile bike, and 3-mile run) with some of my Full Throttle Endurance teammates. It was so much fun, and it went really well! Recap will go live tomorrow! Afterward, a few teammates and I grabbed “triathlete brunch” (normal brunch starts at 11 a.m.; triathlete brunch starts at 9 a.m.—ha!). Even though we see each other regularly at practice, it was nice to hangout without swimming, biking, or running. We obviously had to celebrate our first “race” of the season, so spiked hot chocolate for all!
I have no regrets. Last night, I got dinner and frozen yogurt with my friend Sara. Again, no pictures and no regrets. Great day overall!
Anyway, recovery week has ended, so it’s back to normal workouts. As always, these next seven days will be packed, but I’m changing up the order of some sessions: Andrew invited me to a swimming and running “race” the FTE racing team is having on Thursday: 100-yard swim, 0.25-mile run, 200-yard swim, 0.5-mile run, 300-yard swim, 0.75-mile run, 400-yard swim, 1-mile run, 500-yard swim, 1.25-mile run. He says it will hurt, and I appreciate his honesty. Oh, and we also have our second two-mile running time trial tomorrow morning. And not that I need a reason to get after it this week, but my first official race of the season is basically one month away.
Nautica South Beach, I’m coming for you!
Time for Write It Down, Do It Up!
(If you’re new to WIDDIU, here’s how it works: Every Sunday evening, I post my workout schedule for the week, and I invite you to do the same. This way, we can motivate each other and hold ourselves accountable. Sounds like a win-win, right?)
Monday – a.m. run with Full Throttle Endurance (FTE)
Tuesday – a.m. bike and strength train
Wednesday – off
Thursday – FTE swim-run “race”
Friday – a.m. swim with FTE; a.m. run
Saturday – a.m. swim with FTE
Sunday – off/easy run
When is your next race? Do you count down to big events too?

LOL, it’s the same way with running and swimming brunches. We would be done with swim practice at like 10 and be starving..time for food. I don’t apologize but for me a 12 mile bike session is like marathon not a sprint LOL!
We had trouble finding a place that was open! Apparently normal people sleep in on weekends?
I need to do a countdown like that for my races. I love the idea of having that on your phone.
The app is great!
So funny seeing the word swim when it’s been so cold out! Good week girlie!
TG we’re indoors!
The swim/run combo looks tough! Get after it!!
Oh yeah–it sounds painful! Hopefully I live to tell the tale.
I’ve been wanting to try an indoor triathlon!! My new co-worker says he will help with my training!
You should totally do it! So much fun, plus since it’s indoors, the event is much safer.
I like your theory on writing it down, I’m going to try it this week. Actually found an app on my phone to do just that! Referenced your idea on my blog
http://www.colorushealthy.com – posting it tomorrow.
Woohoo! Can’t wait to read about your planned workouts.
Oh I wish that Droid had this Countdown + app!! And yum huge cup of hot chocolate! What is it spiked with? My run group always has a Saturday morning breakfast/lunch at Panera… meaning we get there for breakfast but linger around chatting and being goofy until lunch. Good week of workouts planned!
Next race – 10k March 17th. C’mon big PR
I think vodka, but I’m not sure–the menu was in French!
I definitely count down. Right now I’m counting down to my next race! NYC Half ahhh… getting nervous because it’s so close!
I will definitely spectate that race! Let me know if you’d like a sign.
Next race I’m running is 13.1 New York, but the next race I’m “racing” is Run for the Red in May.
So many people are doing NYC–it makes me wish I signed up!
